Along with Jurgen Klopp, three important first-team players are expected to depart Liverpool in the summer.
It was confirmed back in January that Klopp will depart Liverpool at the end of the 23–24 season.
The German gave an explanation for his choice, stating that “he was running out of energy” and “could not do the job again and again and again.”
Liverpool will now be working around the clock in a bid to pick out their preferred replacement for Klopp.
However, several of the most crucial players at the team may leave with Klopp because of his impending exit.
According to Football Insider, Keith Wyness, a former chief executive of Aston Villa and Everton, has stated that Alisson Becker, Mohamed Salah, and Virgil van Dijk may all depart Anfield in the summer.
“The backbone of this Liverpool team may depart in the summer,” he stated. “I believe that players like Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Alisson will depart.”
They do so as a result of witnessing their relationship with Jurgen Klopp. It’s challenging to duplicate their level of performance under a new manager.
When Klopp steps down as manager of Liverpool, Reds captain Van Dijk had previously stated he wasn’t sure if he would be a part of the team’s new chapter.
But the Dutchman swiftly provided clarification, saying, “It’s much taken out of context,” in a statement to Men In Blazers. I want to be quite clear: I’m totally dedicated to the club. I adore both the team and the supporters. It’s completely removed from its context.
Nothing has changed; it’s still about us and not about me or I. It may seem absurd given that we weren’t even discussing my contract five days ago, but my entire attention is on ensuring that this year may be really memorable.
“Obviously, big announcement the last couple of days,” he said. Every everybody associated with the club has been taken aback by this.
“And we mean business here, you know. I feel exactly what the fans have been feeling at this exact moment.”
After winning the Carabao Cup last month, Liverpool has made sure that Klopp will have at least one title to round off his final season.
The Reds are leading the Premier League right now and have a chance to win the FA Cup and Europa League as well.
