‘Written in the stars’ – Liverpool told it has key title advantage over Arsenal and Man City

Liverpool is currently second in the Premier League table on goal difference. The Reds could end Jürgen Klopp’s tenure in the best possible fashion this season.

Liverpool and Jürgen Klopp face 10 matches after the international break that will determine if the season finishes with the Premier League title.

The Reds have enjoyed a remarkable campaign having already lifted the Carabao Cup, and remain firmly in the mix for the FA Cup and Europa League.

Klopp’s side has only lost two of its 28 Premier League matches this term and trails Arsenal only on goal difference, with champions Manchester City just a point behind.

It promises to be a thrilling run-in and with City hosting Arsenal on March 31, Liverpool could find itself back in pole position.

Lifting the title would be the perfect finale for Klopp as he bids farewell this summer. While he did end Liverpool’s title hoodoo back in 2020, those celebrations were at an empty Anfield due to Covid-19 restrictions.

The Reds host Wolves on the final day of the season and the dream scenario would be a victory to claim the trophy in Klopp’s final home match. And former Premier League ace Jamie O’Hara believes there is a sense of fate around Liverpool this term.

“I think Manchester City will win the Champions League and the FA Cup but I think Liverpool will win the league, I do. Arsenal is in decent form but I have just got a feeling,” the ex-Tottenham midfielder said on talkSPORT.

“Klopp, it’s written in the stars. They are grinding out results, young players coming, hungry for success, I just feel there is something going on there, I just think they will do it.”

Liverpool returns to Premier League action against Brighton after the international break and does have tricky away fixtures to negotiate at Aston Villa, Manchester United and Everton in the Merseyside derby.

Speaking after last weekend’s draw with Manchester City, Klopp said: “I don’t think I have ever been involved in a title race with three teams. We have 10 games to play, so obviously nothing is decided

“The next one in the league is Brighton at home, traditionally it is not our favorite opponent. It is not that we think, ‘Thank God it’s Brighton.’ They play really good football and that is a tough game for us. At one point we play Tottenham here, we have to go to Aston Villa and stuff like this. City play Arsenal, play Tottenham and Aston Villa as well. So many teams are fighting, so much quality.”

Liverpool.com says: It is still very much possible that Liverpool end the season with four trophies. That would be the ultimate send-off for Klopp and establish him as one of the greatest ever managers. While the FA Cup and Europa League will be in Liverpool’s sights, winning the Premier League against these excellent City and Arsenal sides would surely be the priority.
