Liverpool remain on the hunt for Jurgen Klopp’s long-term Anfield successor and Sporting Lisbon boss Ruben Amorim appears to have emerged as the favourite for the job
Liverpool have a busy few days ahead of them, both on and off the pitch.
The Reds could take a huge step towards two more pieces of silverware this week.
They at first take on Italian side Atalanta in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final clash at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp’s men then have another home game at the weekend. Crystal Palace are their opponents on Sunday as Liverpool aim to reclaim top spot in the Premier League.
Elsewhere, the search for Klopp’s long-term successor continues, with Ruben Amorim now the favourite to become the club’s next manager. With that being said, take a look at all of the news coming out of Anfield.
Amorim dropped Man United hint
While Sporting Lisbon boss Ruben Amorim appears to be the front-runner to replace Klopp, he is also being targeted by fierce rivals Manchester United. And he has already made a declaration over a potential move to Old Trafford.
Speaking in November, Amorim said: “I have an idea for the end of the season but I won’t say it now. But the results and the context take us to something different. I don’t want to be commenting on these things. I have not been contacted by Manchester United.”

Amorim agrees Liverpool deal
Despite competition from the Red Devils, Liverpool are still attempting to tie Amorim down, and it appears that they have managed to do that. Reports in Germany have claimed that an agreement has been found on a three-year deal.

Final terms still have to be agreed upon with his current employers Sporting to facilitate a move. Bayern Munich have also been linked with him as they attempt to find a replacement for outgoing boss Thomas Tuchel.
Amorim has been Sporting boss since March 2020. He still has just over two years left to run on his current contract with the Portuguese giants.
Ince slams Salah
Away from Liverpool’s search for a new manager, former Liverpool and Man Utd star Paul Ince has claimed that Mohamed Salah is not “world class” in one particular aspect. Speaking after the weekend’s draw with the Red Devils, he said: “Is he a world class goalscorer? Yes.
“I think his record speaks for itself. Is he a world class player, technically? I wouldn’t say so. “I think sometimes when he cuts in on his left foot, putting balls into the box, they are not great. But as a far as a world class player scoring goals and making things happen, I think yes.”
