Liverpool is set to be active in the transfer window as Arne Slot looks to make an impression on the Reds squad after taking over from Jurgen Klopp at Anfield this summer
The transfer window is open and Liverpool will be looking to shape their side for a new era.
Arne Slot arrived from Feyenoord at the end of the season to replace legendary boss Jurgen Klopp. The Dutchman faces no small task to follow the German’s efforts, but he will hope to produce results quickly.
Slot will receive assistance during the summer months for the club’s transfer hierarchy in Michael Edwards and sporting director Richard Hughes. They too will be looking to shape the direction of the club following their arrivals.
With that said, Mirror Football takes a look at some of the latest transfer news from Merseyside.
AC Milan hold talks with Liverpool target
Liverpool have been linked to Feyenoord ace Mats Wieffer this summer but will face some stiff competition. It has been reported that Arne Slot is interested in reuniting with his former charge.
Corriere dello Sport have suggested the Rossoneri have been in touch with Wieffer’s agents already, with more talks expected in the coming days. The Serie A side hope to come to some agreement with the 24-year-old’s camp before attempting to persuade Feyenoord.
The defensive midfielder is not part of Netherlands’ Euro 2024 squad so a move could move more quickly. The defensive midfielder has a contract until 2027 so Feyenoord will be comfortable with their position, however.
The 22-year-old is said to haven been under consideration since November and lifted a league title with Sporting. Inacio has since travelled to Euro 2024 with Portugal.
The defender chose to remain with Sporting in January due to personal reasons but would now consider a move to the Premier League. The report even states that Liverpool hope to complete his transfer in the coming weeks.
Leny Yoro decision
Another young defender who has been on the Liverpool agenda. The Anfield club may be facing defeat in their bid for the Lille defender, however.
While the French club have conceded they may need to part ways with the 18-year-old, it appears the youngster has an eye on one destination. Despite interest from Liverpool and Manchester United, it appears to be Real Madridwho hold Yoro’s heart.
The Express report that the Bernabeu is Yoro’s dream destination, and the players camp are now focused on making that move happen. A fee is yet to be agreed, but Yoro is also noted to be apprehensive of a move to England.
