Nico Williams was a prominent player for Athletic Bilbao last season and just played quite well in Spain’s win over Italy at EURO 2024.
Liverpool has been eyeing this winger for a long time, in the context of the future of Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah at Anfield being unclear.
Liverpool had to pay a huge salary to get Nico.
According to journalist Graeme Bailey, Liverpool have held talks with Nico Williams’ representatives before reaching a potential deal in the near future, but the player has demanded a whopping salary of £300,000 per week.
Bailey said that Arsenal also made contact and Nico Williams also asked for the same salary.
It was reported that Williams dreamed of playing for Barcelona and to keep his distance from other clubs, he asked for a huge salary.
The Athletic Bilbao star has a release clause worth around £48.9 million – £50.6 million and the Basque team have no intention of letting their star leave for less.
