Dominik Szoboszlai admits to feeling ‘lonely’ since his move to Liverpool

Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai has revealed he has struggled with feeling lonely at points since his summer move to the Premier League.

The Hungarian international moved to Liverpool from German club RB Leipzig in a £60million deal and has immediately proved himself to be a crucial cog in Jurgen Klopp’s midfield set-up.

The all-action midfielder has already scored once and provided two assists as he looks to fill the void left by the departures of Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita, James Milner and Fabinho in the summer.

However, it hasn’t been all plain sailing for the 23-year-old who recently revealed he has been struggling at times off the pitch as he adapts to his new life in England.

‘I’d be lying if I said I didn’t feel lonely sometimes,’ he said in an interview with Hungarian podcast Premier Leak.

‘There are days when I’m just sitting on the couch wondering about what to do. Then I put on a movie and try to fall asleep, hoping for tomorrow.’

Despite such struggles, Szoboszlai was positive about his on-field performances having played every minute of Liverpool’s Premier League campaign so far this season and reiterated his desire to throw himself into the footballing project at Anfield.

‘Personally, I want to play in every game, even if I’m a bit tired,’ he added. ‘Anything, whether it’s the FA Cup, League Cup, Europa League, Premier League, national team, anything.

‘I’m in a good condition when I’m constantly needed, I’m in the best condition when I can play on Thursday and Sunday.
