Roberto Firmino has started a new job very different from football

Former Liverpool star Roberto Firmino has embarked on a new chapter in his life alongside his wife, Larissa Pereira, by founding an evangelical church in their hometown of Maceio, Brazil. The couple has taken on the roles of pastors, dedicating themselves to their faith and community.

Firmino’s departure from Liverpool last summer marked the end of an extraordinary eight-year stint with the club. During his time with the Reds, the 31-year-old forward made 362 appearances, netting 111 goals and providing 75 assists. His contributions on the field were instrumental in Liverpool’s successes in both the Premier League and the Champions League.

In a statement shared on Instagram, Firmino and his wife expressed their deep spiritual commitment: “Since our first encounter with Christ, a desire burned in our hearts. We want people to feel this love that reached us. Now we have another desire and responsibility: to become pastors on behalf of God.”

Their new mission reflects their passion for spreading their faith and helping others experience the same sense of love and purpose.

Firmino’s football career was marked by his crucial role in Liverpool’s formidable attacking trio, alongside Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah. This dynamic partnership was key to Liverpool’s dominance in recent years, making them one of the most feared attacking units in world football.
