Fans react as Cristiano Ronaldo gets booked for dissent in Portugal’s Euro 2024 clash.

Cristiano Ronaldo received his first booking of Euro 2024 during Portugal’s group stage clash against Georgia. The match took place at the Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen on Wednesday, June 26.

Georgia opened the scoring after just two minutes through winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia from an assist by Georges Mikautadze.

WIth Portugal trying to get an equalizer, their captain was shown a yellow card for dissent in the 28th minute after he reacted to the referee’s decision to not award him a penalty for a possible shirt-pull.

In the second half, Georgia were awarded a penalty for a foul by Antonio Silva on Luka Lochoshvili, which was successfully converted by Mikautadze (57′).

Cristiano Ronaldo was substituted and replaced by Goncalo Ramos in the 66th minute as the Selecao looked to find a way back into the match. However, it ended in a memorable 2-0 win for Georgia and qualification to the Round of 16.
