Confirmed. This is the condition of Szoboszlai’s teammate Varga who was in critical condition after a horrible clash – FOOTSTRIKE

During Hungary’s Euro 2024 match against Scotland, Barnabas Varga suffered a severe injury following a collision with Scotland’s goalkeeper Angus Gunn and teammate Anthony Ralston.

The Hungarian Football Federation has confirmed that Varga is stable but has sustained multiple facial fractures and a concussion, likely requiring surgery.

The incident occurred in the 68th minute, prompting immediate concern from Hungarian players who signaled for medical assistance. The slow response of the medical team drew visible frustration from the team.

After a lengthy treatment on the field, Varga was stretchered off, shielded from view by privacy sheets.

Despite the unsettling event, Hungary secured a 1-0 victory, dedicating the win to Varga. The team’s unity and determination were evident as they played on, visibly affected by their teammate’s condition. The Hungarian Football Federation later confirmed Varga’s stable condition but acknowledged he would not return for the rest of the tournament.

Coach Marco Rossi expressed relief over Varga’s stable condition, emphasizing the player’s health over competitive concerns.

Hungary still hopes to advance in the tournament, potentially as one of the best third-placed teams, showcasing their resilience and spirit amidst the challenging circumstances.
