The next two weeks will be an anxious wait for Jurgen Klopp.
As Liverpool’s players embark on excursions to represent their countries around the world, the threat of injuries looms large.
Already this season the Reds have been wracked by injuries, so that is the last thing Klopp wants to have on his mind.
Especially when you consider how Liverpool still has so much left to play for. Including the Premier League title with everything hinged on what happens when Manchester City welcomes Arsenal after the international break.
If Arsenal fail to get a win at the Etihad, the title is back in Liverpool’s hands.
On top of that, there is also the Europa League to play for. Liverpool have made it to the quarter-final of the competition and have a relatively easy draw with Atalanta and Marseille or Benfica to face in the semi-final of the competition if they get through their Italian rivals.
Jurgen Klopp will want all his players involved in all of those games. But the international break threatens to disrupt those plans. Already one player who picked up an injury for Liverpool but travelled to his national team did not participate in team training today.

Luis Diaz felt a knock after playing against Manchester United at the weekend. However, unlike Darwin Nunez, who didn’t travel to Uruguay, Diaz ended up joining up with the Colombian national team despite his knock.
Now the latest report by journalist Ryan Taylor has claimed that Diaz’s knock, while nothing serious meant he did not participate in team training today. Taylor took to his X account to post the update.
While it’s a positive that Diaz’s injury is not serious. However, it is a bit of a concern that he was not able to participate in team training. There is a worry that perhaps Diaz will be rushed back too soon, and could sustain a more serious injury as a result.
Given Colombia are playing two friendly fixtures during this international break, you would that will not be the case. And that instead Diaz’s minutes will be managed carefully.
