Fabrizio Romano strongly hints at Liverpool transfer target’s plans for this summer

Florian Wirtz has broken his silence on his move to Liverpool; Fabrizio Romano reveals information.

Transfer news analyst Fabrizio Romano has firmly intimated that Florian Wirtz would most likely stay at Bayer Leverkusen this summer, despite recent links with Liverpool and other clubs.

As one of the most exciting young players in the world of football right now, Wirtz is drawing interest from Liverpool, which is not surprising given that the Germany international looks to be a perfect fit for their style of play.

He would also undoubtedly have a significant long-term impact at Anfield because he still has plenty of playing years left.

Christian Falk and Neil Jones of CaughtOffside have both attested to Liverpool’s admiration for Wirtz, but Romano has now given us another update on the 20-year-old’s circumstances.

For the most recent edition of his Daily Briefing column, Romano spoke exclusively to CaughtOffside and made it apparent that, at least for the time being, it was probable that Wirtz would remain at Leverkusen for one more season.

Liverpool could have to wait to sign Bundesliga sensation Wirtz.

According to Romano, Florian Wirtz has discussed his future and indicated that, for the time being, he intends to stay at Bayer Leverkusen. He has expressed a desire to give Leverkusen and the Euros his whole attention.

“There are currently no negotiations and sources close to the player believe the best option is to stay at Leverkusen for one more year, at least. Then never say never in football, but it’s very quiet so far.”

Though it certainly makes sense that Wirtz is content to continue developing with Leverkusen, where he is receiving lots of playing time and a real chance to win major trophies, it would be exciting to see him in English football as soon as possible.

There doesn’t seem to be much point in hurrying to leave, as Xabi Alonso’s team is currently the unexpected Bundesliga leaders and their youthful, talented team can only get better in the years to come.
