Liverpool’s Darwin Núñez and Man City’s Erling Haaland have some surprising things in common

Spending record amounts, Manchester City and Liverpool have acquired two of the most exciting strikers in the league.

However, attention is being drawn to more than just the fees for 21-year-old Norwegian sensation Erling Haaland and 22-year-old Uruguayan forward Darwin Nunez.

Female fans have been paying particular attention to the stars’ toned bodies, which they aren’t afraid to flaunt.

Erling was a young man used to the best things in life even before he came to mega-rich Man City.

The 6ft 5in, blond-haired giant, known by his nickname “The Terminator,” reportedly left a £25,000 tip after spending £400,000 at a restaurant while on vacation in Greece. He rides on private jets and has a personal chef and fitness expert.

As he prepared to depart for the Premier League this week from German team Borussia Dortmund, the magnanimous player gifted each of his thirty-three teammates a £12,000 Rolex watch.

However, he can afford it as the highest-paid player for City right now, reportedly earning £375,000 a week.

After scoring 62 goals in 67 appearances for Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea, and both Manchester teams expressed interest in signing the striker.

To find out who could make the most alluring offer to the Norwegian hotshot, Erling’s ex-football player father Alf-Inge and his agency met with the wealthiest chairmen in Europe.

Erling, meanwhile, maintains that he joined the Premier League champions because he was a longtime supporter of the team and to work with manager Pep Guardiola.

The striker watched his father play for Man City before being born in Leeds, where his father was a player for the team.

Haaland has supported Manchester City since he was a young child.

Erling was raised in Bryne, a town in Norway.

“I was born in England,” he declared. My entire life, I have been a City supporter. I am well-versed in the club. This place makes me feel at home.

However, The Sun can disclose that five years ago, he told a Norwegian newspaper, “My dream is to win the Premier League with Leeds,” and he was also once photographed wearing an Arsenal uniform.

Erling was born to play sports. In addition to his football-playing father, his mother Gry Marita Braut was a champion in the Norwegian heptathlon.

A product of Bryne, a tiny hamlet, he excelled at golf, handball, and long jump as well.

The stocky athlete, who eats 4,000 calories a day to bulk up, has gone to considerable measures to develop his physique. He has an elder brother named Astor and a sister named Gabrielle.

Erling is reportedly single and would rather concentrate on his football career.

The Norwegian is so enamored with the Champions League that he listens to the anthem every morning.

Nunez was a major addition to Liverpool following a successful season for Benfica.

In the arid alleys of Artigas, Nunez aspired to succeed as a football player.

It was his best attempt at providing a better life for his parents.

His mother Silvia and father Bibiano, a bricklayer, resided in a small house near the Cuareim River flood zone with their two sons. Silvia had to sell old bottles to make ends meet.

The waters overflowed their home when it overflowed its banks.

They had financial difficulties, according to family friend Monty Suarez, whose son played with Nunez in elementary school and spoke to The Sun.

“They lived in an area where residents had to flee their homes in order to avoid the water.”

Nunez had to relocate 370 kilometers from his hometown of rural Artigas when scouts from top league team Penarol saw his skills when he was 14 years old. Artigas is the furthest city from the capital, Montevideo.

Their mother did not want her youngest son to reside so far away, and his older brother Junior was already residing at Penarol.

The Sun was told by scout Jose Batlle Perdomo that “it wasn’t easy to get him out of Artigas.” Darwin’s mother did not want Darwin taken away from her either.

Initially, the young student, whom Liverpool acquired for a potentially club-high £85 million, was so homesick that he had to go back to his parents. However, he returned to Penarol’s youth team a few months later.

“He was always a very shy person, but an excellent sportsman — very committed,” says Rodolfo Catino, the club director.

Nunez returned to the youth squad following a significant knee injury that prevented him from playing in the first team.

“More than anything, I tried to help him with his mental state,” adds Perdomo.

We were able to help him rehabilitate because he was always a highly dedicated player.

“It has not been an easy journey for him to get to this point.”

Nunez began to make enough money to support his parents after leaving his native country in 2019 to play for the Spanish team Almeria.

Along with a farmhouse near Artigas and an automobile, he also purchased a house for his brother Junior.

According to friend Monty, Darwin is always willing to help out.

“He sends money to help with food and clothes for residents of his old district every time the river Cuareim rises.”

2020 saw Nunez sign with Portuguese team Benfica, where he started dating Lorena Manas. In January, they gave birth to their first child, a son named Darwin.

He’s just made his biggest football move yet, but he won’t let it get to him.

He famously remarked, “I don’t forget where I come from—a hardworking, modest family.”
