Mo Salah ex-teammate has tragically passed away

Ahmed Refaat, a 31-year-old footballer, tragically passed away early Saturday morning due to a heart attack, according to local reports. His untimely death came after he had represented Egypt in seven international matches from 2013 to 2022, scoring twice.

In March, Refaat had collapsed during a match against Al-Ittihad Alexandria in the Egyptian Premier League, suffering a cardiac arrest that lasted over an hour. He was rushed to the hospital, placed in intensive care, and later fitted with a pacemaker before being released. Despite his recovery, his health deteriorated, leading to his death.

Refaat was known for his role as a winger with Modern Future FC, and his passing has left a significant impact on the football community. Liverpool star and Egypt captain Mohamed Salah paid tribute to his former teammate, expressing his condolences and support for Refaat’s family.

Modern Future FC released a heartfelt statement mourning Refaat’s loss, acknowledging his struggle following the health crisis in March. They expressed deep sadness and faith in Allah’s will, honoring Refaat’s memory and contributions to the team and the sport.
