The Portugal captain Diogo Jota’s chance to win was disregarded when a VAR review determined that Cristiano Ronaldo’s shoulder was not onside during the buildup.

In Group F of the group stage, the national team defeated the Czech Republic by a score of two goals to one, earning a spot in the 2024 European Championship.

Just in time for compensation, Francisco Concei ção bottomed the beacon and won for the national team at 90+2.
