Following their hard-fought victory over Slovakia in the last 16, the England squad returned to their base camp in Blankenhain, where they were treated to a beautiful evening of music. Following a quick warm-up session on Monday morning, the players relaxed at the team hotel, where Sheeran serenaded them with an acoustic performance in the games section of the Spa & Golf Resort Weimarer Land hotel
Sheeran had also visited the squad at the previous European Championship, when England advanced to the final but lost on penalties to Italy. The British musician has been in Germany for a few days and was seen celebrating joyfully in the terraces at AufSchalke after Jude Bellingham’s incredible scissor kick against Slovakia saved England from elimination.
In addition to organising special events, Southgate has allowed family members to visit the camp following matches. These excursions have helped to keep the squad spirits high despite the fact that they have been together for more than a month since their first meeting at Rockcliffe Park in Darlington.
The Three Lions will face Switzerland in the quarterfinals on Saturday.
